Cancellation Policy

We can’t wait to welcome you into Making Waves, 54 Church Road, Barnes, London, SW13 0DQ. To make sure you have the best possible experience, please have a read of our salon terms and conditions.

Deposits and Cancellations

  1. Deposit Requirements: When you book an appointment at Making Waves, we kindly request a 25% deposit of the total service cost. This is a win-win, helping us to sidestep the occasional time-waster (yes, they do exist!) and providing you with a way to spread out the payment for your service.
  2. Our ‘Change-Your-Mind’ Policy: Life happens! And we understand that. That’s why we’ve created a ‘change-your-mind’ window. From the moment you book your appointment, you have up until 24 hours before the appointment to make any changes. So, whether it’s a reschedule or a cancellation, you’re all covered.
  3. Cancellation Procedure: If you can no longer make your appointment, don’t worry. Simply get in touch with the salon at your earliest convenience, but no later than 24 hours prior to your appointment. We’ll be happy to either reschedule your appointment or refund your deposit if you’re unable to find a suitable alternative slot. 
  4. Last-Minute Emergencies: We understand that sometimes urgent matters may arise within the 24-hour window, making it impossible for you to attend your appointment. If this is the case, we’d still greatly appreciate a heads-up. This allows us to offer your appointment slot to other clients and keep our salon running smoothly. Please note that if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice then you will be charged 25% of the service booked. If you fail to show up to your appointment without cancelling then you will be charged 50% of the service booked.
  5. Impact on Pre-Paid Packages: For our clients who have purchased pre-paid service packages, please note that if a booking is cancelled less than 3 hours before the scheduled time, one booking will be deducted from your package, regardless of the reason for the late cancellation.

Please note that these policies are designed to maintain a professional operating environment and ensure that our stylists’ and beauticians’ time is respected. At Making Waves, our aim is to create a professional, efficient, and accommodating environment for all our clients. We highly appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these terms and conditions.

  • This package is valid for use within 30 days of purchase.
  • Pre-payments only, and all payments are non-refundable.

  • Services within the package can be booked separately on different days.
  • A 24-hour cancellation policy is in effect. Late cancellations will result in a deduction from the package.

‘Me Time’ Package:

  • This package is valid for use within 30 days of purchase.
  • Pre-payments only, and all payments are non-refundable.
  • Additional charges may apply for long/thick hair, up to £20.
  • Services within the package can be booked separately on different days.
  • A 24-hour cancellation policy is in effect. Late cancellations will result in a deduction from the package.

Well-Being 4 weeks Course:

  • This package is valid for 60 days from the date of purchase.
  • Pre-payments only, and all payments are non-refundable.
  • Services within the package can be booked separately on different days.
  • A 24-hour cancellation policy is in effect. Late cancellations will result in a deduction from the package.

Skinbreeze Course of 5 Sessions:

  • This package is non-refundable.
  • Valid for 60 days from the date of purchase.
  • A 24-hour cancellation policy is in effect. Late cancellations will result in a deduction from the package.
  • Pre-payments only.

Biotin Course for Hair Growth:

  • This package is non-refundable.
  • Valid for 90 days from the date of purchase.
  • A 24-hour cancellation policy is in effect. Late cancellations will result in a deduction from the package.
  • Pre-payments only.

Gift Cards

Making Waves offers a 14 day ‘change of mind’ guarantee for any gift card purchased, which begins the day after purchase. If you change your mind and want to return the gift card within 14 days of purchase, we will give you a 100% refund to the original method of payment.

A Making Waves Gift Card cannot be refunded once redeemed.

Making Waves Gift Cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The Gift Cards cannot be redeemed once the expiry date has passed.

Sickness Policy

For the sake of you, our team and the rest of the clients, we ask you not to attend the salon if you are unwell. Under no circumstances should you enter the salon if you have had a positive covid test in the last 48 hours.

As stated in the cancellation policy, please notify us if you are unable to attend your appointment due to sickness.

If a member of our team is sick and unable to carry out your service, we will notify you as soon as possible. Where possible, you will have the option of an appointment with an alternative stylist or therapist of the next available space with your original stylist.

Skin Tests

We have a strict skin test (patch test) for all colour appointments and you will need to have been tested a minimum of 48 hours before your first Making Waves colour service.

No skin test, no colour service, it’s that simple.

Unhappy Clients and Complaints

We love to keep our clients happy, but in the hair and beauty industry there are very rare occasions a service leaves a client dissatisfied.

In you are not entirely happy with your results, we ask that you call the salon on 020 8748 5654 or email reception@makingwaveslondon.co.uk and we will invite you into the salon to enable a member of our team to make good the results.

Honesty is the Best Policy

During your consultation you may be asked a variety of questions, including about any recent procedures you have had on your hair or skin or basic medical information.

We ask that you always answer honestly to the best of your knowledge so we can tailor the right treatment to you.
